Sirius XM Radio to launch Apple iPhone mobile app

Sirius XM Radio has revealed that they are planning to launch a mobile application for the Apple iPhone users. This application would be launched in the second quarter of the year. The company is also in talks with satellite TV provider DirecTV Group for a possible collaboration. Sirius XM Radio said that they are looking at new avenues to generate revenues in these tough times. The application for the iPhone would also be available to the owners of Apple iPod Touch. Sirius President of Operations and Sales Jim Meyer spoke about this app: “This is a large and interesting opportunity that will maintain our subscription-based economics while providing customers easier access to our content through means other than our traditional satellite-based platform.” (
