The details of special programs by AIR for the occasion is as follows:

Radio Brahmaputra creates waves

At a time when differences among communities are on the rise, Radio Brahmaputra, a community radio station, is creating waves and uniting tribal groups in upper Assam's Dibrugarh.

The radio station, which began in 2010, has become the voice of the downtrodden with programmes in five languages, including Bhojpuri and Chadri, a tea tribe dialect.

Radio ham talks to space station from garden shed

An amateur radio enthusiast has described how he made contact with theInternational Space Station from his garden shed.

Adrian Lane, 52, a former lorry driver, spent weeks trying to make contact after being told that astronauts were due to pass over his home.

1st batch of radio channels in phase-III auction earns govt Rs

At the close of the ninth day of e-auctions of the first batch of private radio channels for Phase-III expansion, the cumulative provisional winning price of 85 channels in 56 cities touched Rs 900 crore as against their aggregate reserve price of about Rs 407 crore.
