ভয়েস অফ ভিয়েতনাম, ভিয়েতনামের আর্ন্তজাতিক বেতার সম্প্রচার সংস্থা ২০২০ সালের প্রতিযোগিতার ঘোষনা করেছে। সারা বিশ্বের শ্রোতাদের জন্য প্রতি ৫ বছর পরপর এই প্রতিযোগিতা আয়োজন করা হয়। এবছরের কুইজ VOV 2020 contest: What do you know about Vietnam? যেখানে পুরস্কার হিসেবে থাকছে ভিয়েতনাম ভ্রমণ।

২০১৫ সালের পর এবছর আবারও ভয়েস অফ ভিয়েতনাম  তাদের শ্রোতাদের ভিয়েতনাম ভ্রমণের সুযোগ করে দিয়েছে। What do you know about Vietnam? কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতার মাধ্যমে তিনজন সৌভাগ্যবান বিজয়ী পাবেন ৫দিনের ভিয়েতনাম ভ্রমণের সূবর্ণ সুযোগ। 

প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশনিতে দিতে হবে ছয়টি সহজ প্রশ্নের উত্তর। ভিওভি'এর সকল বিভাগের জন্য এই প্রতিযোগিতা উন্মুক্ত।

নিয়মাবলি

• উত্তরপত্র সরাসরি পাঠাতে হবে
  VOVWORLD, 45 Ba Trieu street, Hanoi, Vietnam  বা ইমেইল এর মাধ্যমে। 
• ইমেইল বা পোষ্টের মাধ্যমে পাঠানো উত্তর অবশ্যই ৩১ জুলাই ২০২০ এর মধ্যে পৌছাতে হবে। কোন অবস্থাতেই পরে পাওয়া উত্তরপত্র গ্রহণ করা হবে না।
• উত্তরপত্রের সাথে অংশগ্রহণকারীর পাসপোর্ট বা আইডি কার্ডের পরিস্কার ছায়ালিপি সংযুক্ত করতে হবে। 
• একজন প্রতিযোগি কেবলমাত্র একটি উত্তরপেত্র পাঠাতে পারবেন।
• ছয়টি মূল প্রশ্নের পাশাপাশি অতিরিক্ত  কুইজ (বোনাস কুইজ) এর উত্তর ও পাঠাতে হবে।

3. Vietnam has been actively involved in UN peacekeeping missions. What achievements has Vietnam already recorded in this area and what do you expect Vietnam to accomplish in the future?
4. Vietnam boasts a wealth of UNESCO-recognized heritages. Name at least 5 of these heritages and talk about the heritage you find most impressive.
5. What thoughts strike you first when you think about Vietnam? Why?
6. How do you access the Voice of Vietnam's programs? Which VOV program do you like best? Why?

Ham Course in the University of Madras*

The first time in the history of Indian universities, 'Ham Radio' paper were introduced by the Department of Journalism and Communication, University of Madras.

This is an Elective Course offered by Dr.T.Jaisakthivel, who is also a ham using VU3UOM call sign in the band.

The students studying from 75+ different departments in the university will take this course as an elective. 

Five different units were covered the basic electronics and the rules and regulations for the Ham. Students simultaneously write the ASOC exam and get the ticket to become a Ham.

கொரோனா பாதிப்பால் அகில இந்திய வானொலியின் அனைத்து வெளிநாட்டு சேவைகளும் தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்தப்படுவதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

AIR Suspends External Services Programmes Till March 31

New Delhi : 

March 29 All India Radio (AIR) has suspended the services of its external service division (ESD) till March on account of the exigency measures being taken due to COVID-19 pandemic.

This will include the Urdu service, all foreign language services, Hindi services and rest of Indian language services which have been suspended.

In addition, AIR Kolkata has informed that due to the non-availability of announcers, arising out of the lockdown there it will not be possible for them to continue with the broadcast of Akashvani Maitree.

This service has been suspended after notifying the Bangladesh Betar which relays this service for 4 hours. The decisions were taken earlier this week after a meeting with CEO Prasar Bharti and instructions from CEO.

All staff members have been advised to be available on phone and WhatsApp/e-office, as the case maybe for any emergency. The External Services Division (ESD) of All India Radio (AIR) broadcasts daily 93 hours of programming 24 hours in 15 languages and 12 Indian languages for Indian diaspora living in different parts of the world.

The most important services of ESD which is targeted at Pakistan and is also listened to in India is the Urdu service of ESD which was started in 1965.

This service is the backbone of ESD and is known to be very popular. This service broadcasts programmes in all formats but its main content carries daily counter propaganda programmes for Pakistan besides daily nine news bulletins.

This service broadcasts programmes for 18 hours daily. The broadcast is in Urdu is meant for the Indian diaspora and similarly services and Hindi and English are targeted towards Indians in different parts of the world.

It broadcasts programmes in different formats like news, commentary, talks, current affairs, live radio shows, features, plays, programmes for children, sports, health besides film and classical music.

All the 15 language programmes include Arabaic, Burmese, balochi, Chinese, Dari, English, Indonesian, Persian, Pashto, Russian, Sinhala, Swahili, French.

The Indian languages include Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Tamil, Punjabi, Telugu, Malyalam, Gujarati, Kannada, Sindhi and Bangla.

தமிழக நேயர்களால் 'டெல்லி செய்தி' என்றும், திருமதி.சரோஜ் நாராயணசாமி, திரு.ராஜாராம் உட்பட பல முக்கிய செய்தி வாசிப்பாளர்களை அடையாளம் காட்டிய இந்த செய்தி அறிக்கை, இது போன்று முற்றிலுமாக என்றும் நிறுத்தப்பட்டது இல்லை என்பது இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Since what has popularly been called the spatial turn in the second half 

of the 20th century, space has been considered a social, political and 

cultural construct, as e.g. Henri Lefebvre points out in The Production 

of Space (1974). This shift in the notion of space has also affected the 

perception of artworks taking place in space. With sound studies and 

soundscape theories (e.g. Murray Schafer), the temporal artform of music 

has mutated into the spatial medium of sound. Whether we listen to the 

sounds of natural or urban environments, online playlists, audio books, 

curated sound art, muzac, or experience the tingling sensations of ASMR, 

we find ourselves as listeners positioned in an affective space filled 

with sound and at the same time created by sound – a social construct. 

These listening spaces are at the core of this issue of SoundEffects.

The intersection of spaces and sounds is currently being renegotiated 

owing to the revolution of digital media, with sound spaces becoming 

even more fluid and increasingly mobile and portable. For instance, 

listening to one's own exclusive playlist or a podcast when strolling 

through the park creates a personal listening space. Live concerts, 

soundscapes, and sound art are performative spaces that produce an 

atmosphere on their own terms, although they can also be transmitted and 

saved if necessary. The space of listening becomes a selective space 

that changes the immanent sounds of a specific place. This mobility of 

modern media, as well as a deeper concern for various aspects of 

listening (affective, sociological, political, cultural, 

phenomenological etc.), make it interesting to regard the experiences of 

sound and music as particular listening spaces.

This special issue of SoundEffects focuses on the listening spaces that 

we enter, experience and create.

We invite articles concerning the following subjects (this is not an 

exhaustive list):

  * The technology of listening

  * Mobile listening

  * The physical, social, political, phenomenological, affective,

    cultural, and technological aspects of listening spaces

  * Listening and places

  * The philosophy of music, sound and space

  * Sound as constructed listening space in learning environments,

    institutions, cities, sales etc.
