Study at one of the most advanced broadcasting centers in Europe
Since 2009 the DW Akademie offers a Masters Program, run in cooperation with the University of Bonn, the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and the GIZ (German society for international cooperation).
Program and target group
The bilingual Masters Program combines the subjects media and development, journalism, communications and media economics. The program is designed for international students who pursue executive and management positions. Upon successful
completion of the program, graduates will be awarded with the academic title "Master of Arts (M.A.)". The University of Bonn provides highly qualified IMS graduates the opportunity to pursue their doctorate.
Requirements for taking part in this program are a Bachelor's Degree (the subject of your Bachelor's Degree is not relevant) and more than one year of professional experience in a media- related field after your first degree - experience acquired before
or during studying for your first degree unfortunately cannot be accepted. Candidates are also required to supply evidence of good verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
Tuition fees and scholarships
The tuition fee is 6.000 EUR. A limited number of full scholarships (covering tuition, accommodation and cost of living) is available for applicants from countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. In addition, there are partial
scholarships available that cover the cost of tuition.
