There are two types of postage stamps issued by the Indian Postal Department. They are Commemorative Stamp and Definitive Stamp. In 1988, the definitive postage stamp was issued for 40 paise, focusing on television broadcasts. It is currently the most sought-after stamp among media-related stamp collectors. First Special Cover for Community Radio / சமுதாய வானொலிக்காக, முதல் சிறப்பு அஞ்சல் உறை

India Post released a lot of special covers on Radio, but for the community radio, this is the first special cover dedicated to  Community Radio, which is run by an NGO called Snehapoorvam Educational Trust from Thrissur. 'My Radio 90 FM' starts broadcast on Nov. 1, 2022 from Poothole, Kerala.

இந்திய அஞ்சல் துறை  வானொலி தொடர்பாக  நிறைய சிறப்பு அஞ்சல் உறைகளை  வெளியிட்டுள்ளது, ஆனால் சமுதாய  வானொலிக்காக, முதல் சிறப்பு அஞ்சல் உறையை MY RADIO 90 FMக்காக வெளியிட்டது. இது திருச்சூரில் இருந்து சிநேகபூர்வம் கல்வி அறக்கட்டளை என்ற தன்னார்வ தொண்டு நிறுவனத்தால் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. 'மை ரேடியோ 90 எஃப்எம்' நவம்பர் 1, 2022 அன்று கேரளாவின் பூத்தோலில் இருந்து ஒலிபரப்பைத் தொடங்கியது.

மோர்ஸ் கீ ஸ்டாம்ப் | Stamp on Morse Key

கடந்த இரண்டு மாதங்களாக, இந்த அஞ்சல் தலை ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் வெளியானதில் இருந்து வாங்க வேண்டும் என இருந்தேன். ஆனால், ஒரு அஞ்சல் தலையை வாங்க நாம் ரூ.1200 செலவு செய்ய வேண்டியதாக இருந்தது. அஞ்சல் தலையின் விலை என்னவோ ரூ.60 தான், ஆனால் அஞ்சல் செலவும், கஸ்டம்ஸ் டூட்டியும் விலையை எகிரச் செய்கிறது. எதற்கு அவ்வளவு செலவு செய்ய வேண்டும் என யோசித்துக் கொண்டு இருந்தேன்.

This activity is most popular among amateur radio enthusiasts, and one organized sport variation is known as amateur radio direction finding.

 'ஆபரேஷன் லண்டன் பிரிட்ஜ்' என்ற மாபெரும் நடவடிக்கை கடந்த ஆண்டு செப்டம்பரில் பத்திரிகைகளுக்கு கசிந்தது. ராணி இறந்த சில மணி நேரங்களில் என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதை இது விவரிக்கிறது. இந்த "ஆவணங்கள்" இங்கிலாந்தின் பொலிட்டிகோ என்ற செய்தி நிறுவனத்திற்கு முதலில் கசிந்தன, இதனை கேள்விக்குரிய நாள், அதாவது  "டி-டே" என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

வானொலித் தொடர்பாக மற்றும் ஒரு முக்கிய புத்தகத்தினை ரட்லெட்ஜ் (Routledge) பதிப்பகம் கடந்த மாதம் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. நான் பல வருடங்களாக சொல்லி வந்ததையே இந்த புத்தகத்தின் தலைப்பாக வைத்துள்ளனர்.

வானொலி என்றுமே தமக்கான வெளியைக் கட்டமைத்துக்கொள்ளும் என்பதற்கு இந்த The Routledge companion to radio and podcast studies எனும் தலைப்பே உதாரணம்.

அடுத்தகட்டத்திற்கு எப்படி வானொலி பயணித்துள்ளது என்பதை உலகம் முழுவதும் இருந்து பல ஆய்வாளர்களும் விரிவான கட்டுரைகளை இதில் எழுதியுள்ளனர்.

இந்தியாவில் இருந்து ஹைத்ராபாத் பல்கலைக்கழத்தின் வினோத் பவ்ரளா, கஞ்சன் மாலிக் குழு ஒரு சிறப்பான கட்டுரையை வடித்துள்ளனர்.

Routledge published an important book on radio last month. The title of this book is what I have been saying for years.

The title The Routledge companion to radio and podcast studies is an example of how radio creates its own space.

Many researchers from all over the world have written detailed articles on how radio has traveled to the next level.

Vinod Pawrala and Kanchan Malik team from University of Hyderabad in India have written an excellent paper.

This book is proof that radio definitely has a place in the age of social media.

This book examines in detail how it has adapted from early radio to today's podcasting.

Kudos to Mia Lingrem and Jason Levglio for editing and Rutledge Publishing for published it.

World Listening Day

Every year on July 18th, World Listening Day encourages people to take time to listen to the sounds of nature. It's also a day to learn more about field recording.

Listening plays an important role in understanding one another. Listening is also important when trying to understand the world around us. Learning about the relationship between humans and their environment through sound is called acoustic ecology.

You probably hear sounds in your natural environment every day. These sounds might include the rustling of leaves in the wind. The babbling of a brook nearby. Birds singing as the sun rises. Some sounds might be annoying and others more soothing. Acoustic ecologists take sound listening to another level. They take time to really listen to the sounds and interpret their meanings. When sounds begin to change over time, it might indicate there are changes in the environment. When animal sounds begin to disappear it might mean they are losing their habitat.

Those who record these kinds of sounds engage in a practice called field reporting. Some who do this lie on the ground listening for hours at a time. They also travel to different kinds of environments to record sounds. These environments might include forests, deserts, plains, oceans, and mountains. Some also do field recording in urban areas. Those in cities might listen to see how noise pollution is changing the environment. Field reporters know that sounds in any environment are trying to communicate something. All they need to do is stop and listen.

Artists, scientists, ecologists, and others who want to better understand the world's natural environment hold a variety of events on this day. These events include educational seminars, listening parties, and special performances. To participate:

Go outside and take time to listen to the sounds of the world around you.

Learn more about field recording and try to record some natural sounds in the outdoors.

Read the book, "The Tuning of the World" by R. Murray Schafer.

In 2010, the WLP created World Listening Day. They chose July 18th to commemorate R. Murray Schafer's birthday. Schafer is a renowned Canadian composer, author, and environmentalist. He is best known for his studies on acoustic ecology.

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.

When people talk, listen completely.

வரலாற்றினை இன்று சுவாரஷ்யமாக சொல்லுவது ஒரு கலையாகி வருகிறது. சென்னையைப் பற்றி பல புத்தகங்கள் வெளிவந்தாலும், இந்த மூன்று பாகங்கள் கொண்ட "Madras: A 400 year record of the first city of Madras India" தனித்துவமானது. இதனை திரு.எஸ்.முத்தையா தொகுத்துள்ளார்.
